A carbon peel is a revolutionary laser treatment that is completely painless with minimal to practically no downtime and all completed in the space of 45 minutes.
According to studies “The laser treatment is suitable for all ages and can lighten age spots and dark spots, fade freckles, reduce wrinkles and fine lines, shrink pores and remove blackheads and acne. It can also lift and tighten the skin, improve elasticity, moisturise and give bright and radiant complexion”. As the laser penetrates the deep layers of the skin, it stimulates collagen production, meaning firmer, more youthful looking skin.
How It Works?
A layer of liquid carbon is applied to your face and neck and left to dry so the carbon can penetrate deeply into your pores. The carbon bonds with any debris that might be present for example dead skin cells, contaminants and oils. A laser will then pass across the surface of your skin and as the laser is highly attracted to the carbon particles, its energy and heat is absorbed by the carbon paste detoxing the particles in your pores.
As light from the laser is attracted to the carbon, the carbon absorbs the light energy. The reaction pushes the energy in the form of heat, deep into layers of the skin where elastin and collagen are activated and cells being producing anew. Meanwhile, on the surface of the skin as the heat is absorbed by the carbon, the carbon is then vaporised along with any dirt, oil or dead skin cells.
Procedure time
The treatment can take up to 45 minutes to complete the full face.
Pain
This is a pain free treatment and the client may only feel a slight tingling sensation.
Recovery Time
No downtime, however where possible we advise skin to breath until the next morning. Before bed you can cleanse the skin with cotton pads and warm water to remove any dirt then apply your usual might cream. It is advised that you use sun protection cream after treatment during the day with a minimum SPF30.
Side Affects
it is important that the client continually uses SPF 30+ sun block prior to starting the treatment, throughout the course of treatments and 30 days after. This is because exposure to UV rays can course an increase of abnormal production of pigmentation within the skin resulting in hypo/hyper pigmentation. Slight redness is common but will subside within a few hours of treatment. Pigmentation may crust but will fall off within 14 days.
Sessions needed
For customers who wish to see remarkable improvements the normal recommendation is 6 sessions every 4 weeks, however the client can see results after one session. Future treatments maybe needed as results will depends on clients lifestyle. Top up treatments may be carried out as and when the client feels they need it with 4 week intervals between treatments.
Note
If you have recently had dermal filler or toxin treatments it is recommended that you wait a minimum of 2 weeks before undergoing carbon laser skin rejuvenation.
