IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a third generation system used to perform various skin treatments for therapeutic purposes including: Hair removal, Skin Rejuvenation, Acne, Rosacea, Thread Veins, Wrinkle Reduction and Skin Pigmentation. The technology uses a high powered, handheld, computer controlled flash applicator to deliver an intense, visible, broad-spectrum pulse of light. Various filters can be used to selectively filter out shorter wavelengths to suit each treatment performed.

More About IPL

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is one such cutting-edge therapy that aims to rejuvenate the skin. As a non-invasive technique, it can successfully minimise wrinkles whilst replenishing the beauty of your skin. IPL treatment has many advantages, one being the way it looks. Rather than focusing on temporarily filling the missing collagen, IPL works to rejuvenate and give that collagen boost that many of us are after. This results in younger, fresher skin.

How It Works

Skin rejuvenation is the treatment of sun damaged skin. Skin rejuvenation is used to boost the complexion, even out the skin tone, tighten pores, smooth out the skin texture and give a collagen boost within the skin. Skin rejuvenation is an excellent treatment to reverse the signs of aging.
IPL energy is applied in a series of gentle pulses. Without damaging the surface, the IPL energy is absorbed by the dermal layer of skin tissue where it triggers a repair mechanism and begins to rebuild and replenish its own natural collagen. Skin will begin to look younger and softer as collagen is replenished beneath the surface.

Procedure time

Anywhere between 10-15 minutes.

Pain

The sensation will vary from client to client. The sensation that is felt depends upon the amount of melanin found in the skin. The sensation is described as a heat sensation and a few clients say it is like mild sunburn.

Recovery Time

Customer may see a blush in the treated area for an hour or so. You can apply makeup after the treatment and reassume normal activity.

Side Affects

Mild redness of the skin initially after the treatment. This is a good sign and completely normal, showing that the treatment has worked and sufficient heat has been pushed into the epidermis.

Sessions needed

On average 1-6 treatments at 4 week intervals are needed for best results. Top up treatments maybe needed in the future to maintain these results.

Note

Skin rejuvenation, pigmentation and wrinkle reduction are becoming more popular with male clients. A few factors to consider are unwanted hair removal may occur so be precise on your treatment area. Another factor to consider is the treatment can be quite painful due to the lower pain tolerance. At the House of Laser Clinic we can assure all male clients that the treatments will start at a low energy level and will only increase if and when the client wishes so.
